Wrike to Google Sheets
Wrike exports to Excel. Getting the same data into a Google Sheet, and keeping it there, takes one of four routes.
1. Export to Excel, import to Sheets
In any Wrike table view: the export menu produces an .xlsx file; File → Import in Google Sheets brings it in. It works for a one-off snapshot. It does not refresh, it flattens custom fields unevenly, and every stakeholder report means doing it again.
2. Zapier or Make
Automation platforms can append a row when a task is created. They are trigger-based: new tasks arrive, but existing tasks are not backfilled and status changes on old rows are not reflected unless you build update logic yourself.
3. Wrike's own two-way sync
Wrike offers a Google Sheets integration powered by Unito as a paid add-on, included in the Apex plan. If your organisation has it, it is a strong two-way option. Team and Business plans do not include it.
4. A sync add-on inside Google Sheets
PullRows runs inside the sheet. You connect your Wrike account, pick a folder, project or space, choose columns, and the add-on writes one row per task, keyed on the Wrike task ID. On Pro it re-runs on a schedule while the sheet is closed.
- Install PullRows from the Google Workspace Marketplace and open the sidebar from the Extensions menu.
- Connect Wrike. You sign in to Wrike and grant read-only access; the add-on never sees your password.
- Choose a space, then a folder or project. Tick the columns you want, including custom fields.
- Save and sync. A tab fills with your tasks; a Sync status tab logs the run.
- On Pro, set the schedule to hourly or every four hours.
What you get in the sheet
| Column | Source in Wrike |
|---|---|
| Wrike ID | Task ID, used to match rows between runs |
| Title, Status, Status group | Task title; workflow status name and its group (Active, Completed, Deferred, Cancelled) |
| Assignees, Author | Names resolved from Wrike contacts |
| Start date, Due date, Completed | Real date values, so they sort and filter |
| Importance, Folder / project, Link | Priority, enclosing folder or project, permalink |
| Custom fields | Any custom field in your account, as text |
Limits to know
- One-way only. Edits in the sheet are overwritten on the next sync; make your notes in other columns or tabs.
- Tasks removed from the folder stay in the sheet, flagged in a
_synccolumn, so nothing silently disappears. - The free tier syncs the first 1,000 tasks of a folder.
